By accessing or using the Deadzone service ("Service"), including our website at getdeadzone.io, SMS-based AI assistant, and web dashboard at deadzone.app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
Deadzone is a satellite SMS-to-AI bridge that allows users to send text-based queries via satellite-capable devices and receive AI-generated responses. The Service includes:
The Service is currently available to users in the United States only. You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account. You must have a device with built-in satellite SMS capability (e.g., iPhone 14+ with iOS 18+, or a compatible Android device with satellite messaging support). No carrier-specific add-on is required.
Your account is tied to your phone number. Authentication is via SMS one-time password (OTP). You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.
Deadzone is a paid subscription service with monthly and annual billing options. Pricing, signal allocations, and tier features are described on our pricing page. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the dashboard. Upon cancellation:

Deadzone is NOT a substitute for professional emergency services. The emergency command (!e) provides general first aid reference information only. The emergency contact alert feature sends notifications to your pre-registered contacts but does not contact emergency services (911, search and rescue, or coast guard).
For life-threatening emergencies, use your device's built-in SOS via satellite feature (Apple Emergency SOS) or contact professional emergency services directly. Deadzone does not guarantee the accuracy, timeliness, or completeness of any emergency information provided.
Responses from the Deadzone AI assistant are generated by artificial intelligence and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or outdated information. You acknowledge that:
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We collect and process your data as described therein. Conversation history is stored temporarily for context continuity and is not used for marketing or sold to third parties.
You acknowledge that satellite SMS is subject to inherent limitations:
By sending a text message to a Deadzone phone number, you consent to receive SMS messages from Deadzone in response to your queries. Deadzone is a user-initiated service — we only send messages in direct response to texts you send us.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Deadzone and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or use, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Idaho, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
